About the Artist

Janie McGinn

I’ve been drawn to art for as long as I can remember. Receiving a four-year scholarship to Chouinard Art Institute in Los Angeles gave me the opportunity to pursue my dream of becoming an artist and laid the foundation for a lifelong creative journey. After more than five decades as a professional graphic designer, I returned to painting with a renewed appreciation for the beauty of the natural world.

My impressionistic oil paintings are inspired by the ever-changing effects of light, color, and atmosphere. Whether I’m painting coastal dunes, peaceful marshes, mountain meadows, vineyards, or quiet country roads, my goal is to capture not just the landscape, but the feeling of being there. I hope each painting invites the viewer to pause, reflect, and experience the peace and beauty that inspired me.

I’m especially grateful that a private collector acquired twenty-one of my paintings during my 2021 exhibition at Blue Wing Gallery in Woodland, California. Experiences like that remind me that art has the power to create lasting connections between the artist and the collector. I’m honored to return to Blue Wing Gallery in 2026 with a new collection of original oil paintings.

Thank you for visiting my gallery. I hope my paintings bring you as much joy and inspiration as I found in creating them.
